Each corn dog is battered and fried only after you order, right in front of the counter at the outer edge of Gwangjang Market. Because each one is made from scratch, expect about a 5-minute wait. The batter is sweeter than the usual Korean hot dog and comes out with a hard, crackly shell, which softens noticeably within half an hour. The original hot dog lets that sweet crust carry the bite. The half-and-half (banban) splits one stick between two flavors, and the potato version is studded with potato cubes that lose their crunch first as it cools. For takeaway, keeping the sauce separate stops the crust from going soggy. With no tables, it is takeout only, sized for eating while you walk the market.
