The flagship store of master baker Ahn Chang-hyun in Incheon's Guwol-dong, An's Bakery has been in operation since 1993 and has since expanded to nine company-owned branches. Designated as Korea's 7th Master Baker in 2009, Ahn brings a craftsman's precision to the fundamentals - the baguettes and bread loaves that form the foundation of any serious bakery are executed at a consistently high level. The signature mentaiko baguette is widely regarded as one of the finest in the country: the baguette itself has a firm, chewy crust yielding to a soft interior, while the cod roe topping is mild and fragrant rather than aggressively salty, making it universally approachable. The salted butter roll at 2,900 won delivers solid quality at an accessible price point, and longtime regulars consistently praise the garlic baguette and mammo bread as well. The cake lineup is particularly extensive and visually impressive, making it a popular choice for celebration cakes, and the shop offers in-store tasting to help customers choose. Prices for most breads start around 5,000 won - notably higher than average - and checkout lines can grow long during busy periods. Parking is available behind the building but limited in capacity.
