Yeosu Bapsang Galchiya 여수밥상 갈치야

Big windows look over the Dolsan sea from a wide dining hall on the coastal road toward Hyangiram Hermitage, and the meal centers on hairtail fish cooked two ways. The set for two brings spicy braised hairtail (galchi-jorim), salt-grilled large hairtail (wang galchi-gui), seodae fish tossed in a vinegary dressing, and both soy-marinated and spicy raw crab. Braised radish and fish are spooned onto rice, while the plain grilled fish wrapped in roasted laver with rice suits children. The tart seodae salad resets the palate between the braise and the crab. One set feeds a family with young children without extra dishes. Window tables go first to reservations, and each table has a phone charger.
