Sunbok Sikdang 순복식당

A gukbap restaurant inside Suncheon's Bukbu Market (Utjang), serving a clear, gentle broth infused with ginseng. Before the soup arrives, a plate of boiled pork (suyuk) and sundae on blanched napa cabbage sets the tone - the suyuk quality alone justifies the visit. The gukbap itself carries a subtle ginseng aroma, sitting between sundaetguk and samgyetang in character, and settles the stomach comfortably. Wrapping the pork with cabbage and salted shrimp is a local specialty. Early morning visits help avoid the queue that forms even on non-market days. Parking is available at the Utjang lot.
