Frozen pollock goes onto a heated iron plate under a red chili sauce and keeps bubbling at the table. Unlike a pot-braised version, the sauce reduces where it touches the hot metal and soaks into fish that flakes apart easily, with tofu, bean sprouts and water parsley packed in between. Cheolpan dongtae-jjim is meant for a group sharing one plate, and the meal usually ends with steamed rice mixed into the leftover sauce. The restaurant is tucked inside a residential alley in Yeonhui-dong, away from the main road.
