I had a course including dongpo pork, menbosha, and kkanpunggi at celebrity chef Lee Yeon-bok's Chinese restaurant in Seodaemun-gu. I booked through Catchtable a month ahead, and dongpo pork and menbosha require advance ordering, so arriving without a pre-order means you cannot get them. The menbosha is textbook crispy-outside-moist-inside, and the dongpo pork uses pork belly with zero gamey smell and well-calibrated seasoning. Kkanpunggi was the standout of the course, while the yusanseul divided opinions with its strong ginger presence. Jajangmyeon had firm, bouncy noodles, but the jjamppong was spicy enough to upset sensitive stomachs. Rice and noodle portions in the course are small, so adding crab fried rice is a practical move to leave full. Service strikes a polished balance, and the 30,000-won reservation deposit cancels automatically upon arrival. Driving visitors have parking, but walking-only access is challenging.
