Sigol Sundae is a well-established restaurant near Sangnoksu Station in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, celebrated for its makchang sundae (intestine-cased blood sausage). Unlike standard dangmyeon-filled sundae, the makchang version here has a distinctively soft yet densely packed texture that fills the mouth with each bite, accompanied by an earthy, slightly funky aroma that devotees find irresistible. The sundaeguk broth leans toward a clearer appearance rather than the milky white style, but its depth and body are anything but thin, the flavor is clean and deeply satisfying. Stirring in dadaegi (chili paste) unlocks a savory richness that makes finishing the entire bowl effortless. Each ttukbaegi arrives generously loaded with not just sundae but also suyuk, head meat, and osorikamtu (stomach lining), ensuring the solids alone constitute a substantial portion. Dipping sundae into the accompanying seasoning sauce doubles the flavor intensity, and the house saeujeot, packed with vegetables in a style reminiscent of country markets, is another distinctive touch. The kkakdugi has earned its own reputation among regulars. While a mild pork aroma may linger inside the restaurant, the soup itself carries no off-putting smell.
