The kitchen has maintained a consistent flavor for over a decade, drawing visitors willing to make the drive from as far as Daegu specifically for the food. Run by a family, the main branch is accompanied by several nearby satellite locations, with a new branch featuring a larger parking lot planned for opening. The original location is widely considered the best of the group, with its sundae-gukbap delivering a hot, clean broth free of off-flavors and packed with generous portions of meat. The makchang-sundae is a house specialty, though its pronounced pork gaminess divides opinions. The ttaro-gukbap is competent but regarded by some as unremarkable relative to the restaurant's fame. Where the kitchen truly excels is in its grilled dishes, the ojingeo-bulbaek, seared on a grate with aggressive wok-hei, produces a smoky intensity that immediately triggers soju cravings, and ordering it alongside the gukbap creates what regulars consider the essential pairing. The pork gochujang stir-fry also benefits from well-executed char, and the makchang-yangnyeom-gui and assorted sundae platter satisfy on their own terms.
