봉궁순대국 본점
Bonggung Sundaeguk is operated directly by Sunjin Foods, a sundae (Korean blood sausage) manufacturer, and sits at the entrance of Ansan's Technovalley along the Suin Industrial Road. The foundation of every bowl is a house-made sagyeol (beef bone) broth that distinguishes itself from commercial products with a genuinely deep, clean flavor evident from the first spoonful. The typical sundae odor is virtually absent, making it approachable even for those who usually avoid sundae. Seasoning with salt and saeujeot (fermented shrimp) brings out the broth's full savory potential. The san-nakji (live octopus) sundaeguk is the restaurant's signature creation - two whole small octopuses add a fresh, chewy contrast to the rich bone broth, and at 18,000 won, the price is reasonable considering octopus costs. The ppolsal (cheek meat) sundaeguk offers a slightly richer profile with well-distributed fat enhancing the umami, while the bulgot (spicy) sundaeguk suits those who prefer heat. The self-service side dish station features notably good geotjeori and yeolmu kimchi, and unlimited rice plus sungnyung (scorched rice water) ensure a filling meal. Lunchtime waits are common but turnover is fast, and a parking attendant helps manage the lot. Packaged sundae and offal are available for takeaway.
