Oncheonjip 온천집

Steam drifts across the entrance of this hanok in the Ikseon-dong alleys, and a small artificial hot spring runs through the middle of the dining hall. The signature Oncheonjip gom shabu arrives as tiered boxes stacked with meat and vegetables, and the broth comes in three styles: the mild Polar Bear broth, a mushroom broth and a spicy one. Four dipping sauces keep the pot from tasting the same bite after bite. Minari yukjeon, thin beef pancakes with water dropwort, adds a crisp edge next to the tender poached meat. Leftover broth goes into kalguksu noodles or fried rice to close the meal. Walk-in waits run long, and CatchTable reservations are accepted.
