Myeongdong Hamheung Myeonok 명동함흥면옥

Down a narrow alley behind Myeongdong's main streets, wood-tiled walls and old wall lamps mark a Hamheung naengmyeon house that has been serving for decades. Hoe naengmyeon comes topped with plenty of tangy marinated skate, in a sauce that is not very sweet and only gently spicy. Hand-made mandu, North Korean style with a strong meaty taste, come six to a plate.
