Odarijip Ganjang Gejang 오다리집 간장게장

Large flower crabs marinated in soy become ganjang gejang in this second-floor dining room near Olive Young in Myeong-dong. The meat is firm, the roe plentiful, and the marinade tastes sweet and savory rather than fishy or salty. Mixing the crab and marinade into rice and wrapping a bite in gopchang-gim seaweed is the usual way to eat it, and the shell takes a scoop of rice for the last of the sauce. Sets come with kimchi stew, hot steamed egg in an earthenware pot and refillable side dishes. The room is loud, crowded with tourists and on the pricey side.
