Sitting right beside Gugi Tunnel, this haejangguk house fills with hikers at Saturday lunch, and the overflow spills onto outdoor tables. The haejangguk (hangover soup) is a clear broth with no chili oil or spicy paste, loaded with congealed ox blood, tripe and napa cabbage greens. Try it plain, then add chili flakes and pepper for a sharper bowl. Seolleongtang, ox-bone soup, comes richer and meatier, and the half-and-half crepe with gondeure greens works as a shared side. Kimchi is made in-house with freshly ground chilies.
