At the prepay counter you just say how many people are eating, pay and take a number; kongnamul-gukbap, bean sprout rice soup, is the only dish, and there is nothing else to choose. On busy days that number doubles as your place in the queue. Because the soup is finished by toryeom, ladling broth over the rice again and again, it arrives warm rather than scalding and can be eaten right away. Bean sprouts, rice and broth can all be refilled.
