The coating is fried thick and hard enough that the chicken stays crunchy even when drenched in the thin, runny glaze, and it holds up after cooling. Dakgangjeong has been fried at this spot in the middle of Sinpo International Market since 1985: sweetness first, then a slow-building heat from chili and chili oil, with chopped peanuts on top. Only bone-in chicken is served. The plain fried chicken is quite salty and comes as a half-and-half order with the glazed version. The takeout line runs long even on weekdays, while eating in brings cabbage salad and pickled radish, and leftovers can be boxed.
