Mammoth Hoe Center is a large-scale raw fish and seafood complex at Yeonan Pier in Jung-gu, Incheon, housing roughly thirty individually numbered vendor stalls within a single building. Each stall offers nearly identical menus, pricing, and basic table settings, allowing visitors to freely choose any number without significant variation in the core experience. Subtle differences emerge mainly in each stall owner's personality and service style. The facility's primary distinction from conventional raw fish restaurants lies in its exceptionally generous seafood-focused side dish spread. A piping-hot mussel soup arrives boiled to order the moment guests sit down, followed by a procession of abalone porridge, boiled shrimp, whelk, clams, corn cheese, sea cucumber, sea squirt, abalone, live octopus, scallops, pen shells, and even small sushi pieces. Unlike standard sashimi restaurants where sides lean toward fried or grilled fish, Mammoth Hoe Center delivers a rotating parade of live and fresh marine products that constitutes a major draw for seafood enthusiasts. The sashimi centers on flatfish and rockfish, sliced thick and served at peak freshness, with yellowtail becoming a seasonal favorite during winter months. The meal concludes with either a spicy maeuntang or a clear jiri-tang fish stew. The jiri-tang, prepared with large fish, produces a milky, collagen-rich broth reminiscent of bone soup, and hand-pulled dough flakes bobbing in the broth provide an engaging textural element. Ordering rice triggers an additional serving of soy-sauce crab (ganjang gejang), which is prepared to a standard high enough that spooning rice into the crab shell creates a standalone dish. Many guests purchase extra portions of the crab for takeout. Portion sizes throughout the meal are substantial enough that finishing everything becomes a genuine concern rather than an afterthought. Requesting sushi rice separately allows guests to assemble their own sushi at the table. Operating hours run from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with closures on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Parking is available inside the building but becomes congested during weekends and peak dining hours. Individual stall interiors are compact, with tables positioned closely together.
