Meonjimak comes from Wonjimak, an old name for the orchard village around Dorim-dong, and the business began in 1957 selling gukbap in Daerim Central Market. Now listed as a Seoul Future Heritage site, it boils fresh Korean pork for a dense broth. Sundaeguk, blood sausage soup, comes three ways: gukbap with rice already in the bowl, ttaro with rice on the side, and teuk with extra offal. Season first with saeujeot, salted shrimp, and perilla powder, and stir in the spicy dadegi paste only after tasting the clear broth. Sundae-modeum, a sausage and offal platter, comes in three sizes for drinking.
