Chicken gomtang, made from a native-breed chicken simmered for hours in a cast-iron cauldron, reaches the table almost as soon as it is ordered. The broth is clean but substantial; stir in the dadaegi chili paste and it turns into a spicy hangover soup. Neungi chicken gomtang adds the deep aroma of neungi mushrooms. Crisp potato-strip jeon, dipped in the sauce that comes with the soup, is the usual side, while dinner groups move on to thick, moderately spicy dakbokkeumtang and makgeolli. All ingredients are domestic, the shop has been in Migeun-dong near Seodaemun Station for about 60 years, and Onnuri gift certificates are accepted.
