Popolo Pizza, located near Jeongbalsan Station in Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, is an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant whose pizzaiolo claimed the championship at the 2024 European Pizza Competition in the Neapolitan pizza category. The pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven built on-site by Italian craftsmen using Vesuvius volcanic stone, producing a dough that practically melts in the mouth and delivers an experience that sets it apart from conventional pizza. The most popular item on the menu is the Popolo Classica, a eggplant-topped pizza, while appetizers such as Frutti di Mare (seafood fritto misto) and Caprese salad also receive high marks. Following a feature on the popular Korean TV show 'Pungja Ttoganjip,' demand surged to the point where queues form from as early as 9 AM even on weekdays. On-site registration via the Catch Table app begins at 10:30 AM, and arriving around 9:30 AM generally secures entry for the first seating. Wait times frequently reach one to two hours, so browsing the nearby department stores while monitoring the Catch Table notification is a practical strategy, though missing the entry window when called will push the reservation back. One pizza per person is the recommended portion size. Note that pasta has been removed from the menu as of July 2025. The building's underground parking offers two hours free, but given the lengthy waits, using the Ilsandong-gu Office parking lot nearby is more practical.
