Hoban 호반

Two butterfish, each bigger than a rice paddle, are braised with radish, tofu and zucchini in a savory sauce for byeongeo-jjim, and the sauce-soaked tofu is half the reason to order it. A bowl of kongbiji, ground soybean stew made without pork, comes out first with the fish order. Daechang sundae, sausage stuffed into large intestine, is notably rich, while the assorted offal is clean-tasting and chewy. Sundae-gukbap comes in a clear, lightly seasoned broth with big, vegetable-packed sausages. This old place moved from Insa-dong past the Constitutional Court to Nagwon-dong, and after-work crowds fill it quickly.
