고산떡갈비
A tteokgalbi (grilled minced-meat patty) restaurant in Uijeongbu that has been family-run since 1979, now in its third generation. The establishment holds multiple accolades including Gyeonggi Province's Top Restaurant designation, a heritage restaurant recognition, and a Blue Ribbon Survey listing. Two options are offered - beef and pork tteokgalbi. The beef version arrives as a substantial 300-gram portion of coarsely ground meat pressed onto the bone, and the first bite reveals visible meat texture with juices flowing freely, releasing both charcoal aroma and pure beef richness. A slight sweetness in the seasoning never overwhelms the excellent texture and flavor. Beef is markedly superior to pork in depth of taste and is the recommended choice. The accompanying yeolmu naeng-guksu (cold radish-green noodle soup) provides an ideal counterbalance, with its sweet-tart broth, crunchy radish greens, and well-cooked noodles cutting through the richness of the meat. Each diner receives an individual pot of doenjang-jjigae slow-cooked until the zucchini dissolves into a naturally sweet, savory broth. Sujeongwa (cinnamon punch) served as dessert carries a gentle cinnamon warmth for a clean finish. The building was renovated into a two-story Western-style house several years ago, creating a comfortable dining environment, and complimentary valet parking is available. Staff provide attentive, considerate service throughout the meal, and the restaurant welcomes families with children as well as international visitors.
