I had gukbap and gomtang at this hanwoo soup restaurant near the expressway toward Uijeongbu. The gukbap is a spicy, shiraegi-packed style that runs quite hot and salty, so pouring in half a cup of water or requesting plain broth helps temper the intensity. The gomtang takes the opposite approach: just beef and glass noodles in a clean, well-seasoned broth. The well-fermented kkakdugi is genuinely excellent, but with only kimchi as a side, the spicy-on-spicy pairing gets monotonous. The restaurant is enormous, and the parking lot beside the expressway is proportionally massive, making car access easy. After 12:30 PM on Saturdays, a queue forms, but turnover is fast. Some regulars claim over 20 years of loyalty, though recent reviews note the seasoning has gotten heavier and meat portions have shrunk.
