A bunsik (Korean snack-food) restaurant right outside Korea University's main gate, widely regarded as the ultimate university-district eatery for its exceptional value. The signature tuna kimbap is stuffed to bursting with tuna and mayonnaise, and the use of mixed-grain rice instead of plain white rice adds a healthier twist. Even the basic kimbap roll is generously filled, priced at just 3,500 won as of 2026. The rice-cake tteokbokki distinguishes itself with a depth of flavor that sets it apart from standard wheat-cake versions, earning frequent recommendations. The rabokki portion is generous enough for two to share comfortably. The self-serve doenjang broth is salty and addictive, drawing repeat visits on its own merit. With only three tables inside, the dining space can feel cramped, but takeout is significantly faster and more practical. Orders are placed by checking items on a slip of paper at the entrance and handing it to staff; kimchi, pickled radish, and doenjang soup come standard. The shop draws a constant stream of students, international exchange students, faculty, and neighborhood residents, with delivery and takeout orders keeping the kitchen busy throughout operating hours. The restaurant recently relocated to the opposite side of the street. Late-evening visitors should note that only pre-made kimbap may be available for takeout past certain hours.
