Dwaejitong 돼지통

A short walk from Yeoksam Station, this Teheran-ro side-street spot grills aged Korean pork over hardwood charcoal. Weekday evenings bring a queue, so weekends are often easier. The signature teukmoksal (premium pork neck) and samgyeopsal come in 200-gram portions, thick enough that staff do the grilling and cutting. Beyond salt, there is a pollock-roe sauce and an egg yolk marinated in soy for dipping, and white kimchi tastes best charred on the grill. Kimchi-jjigae arrives first as a standard side, while chadol doenjang-juk (brisket and soybean-paste porridge), cheese ramyeon or honeycomb-scored pork skin finish the meal.
