Baguettes crowd the shelves of a small shop on Donggyo-ro, and most of the specialties start by splitting one open and filling it. The green-onion cream baguette (daepa cream) sets sticky scallion cream against a crackling crust; the honey Gorgonzola baguette layers salty blue cheese with honey. Black-sesame anbutter coats the bread in seeds until it crunches like sesame brittle, then packs in walnut-studded sesame paste and a thick slab of butter. Fig bread uses fig pulp cooked down like jam rather than whole dried figs. By evening the selection runs thin.
