수림식당 본점
A self-made noodle Chinese restaurant near Oncheonjang and Geumgang Botanical Garden in Busan's Geumjeong-gu, established as a longtime fixture in the dining alley near Pusan National University's south gate. The signature tantanmen features a spicy-sweet sauce loaded with generous toppings over chewy house-pulled noodles - a bibim (dry-mixed) version is also available for those who prefer it. The eggplant dumplings are a must-order: deep-fried to a crisp shell, they release a burst of scalding-hot meat juices when bitten into, winning over even those who normally avoid eggplant. The beef noodle soup (ueok-tang-myeon) pairs a deeply flavored beef broth with tender noodles, while the dongpo pork rice bowl comes generously heaped with melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly. The shrimp wonton noodle soup also earns praise for its well-balanced mala seasoning. Despite its compact size, the restaurant is kept very clean, and staff are friendly and attentive. Lunchtime can bring queues, and parking is limited, so visiting outside peak meal hours is advisable.
