I had the signature gukbap, which arrived as a milky broth filled with generously sliced, thin-cut pork. The soup comes with almost no pre-seasoning, so I adjusted it with saeujeot (salted shrimp) and salt at the table - once dialed in, the broth revealed a clean yet deep pork flavor. The geotjeori and chunky kkakdugi were standout banchan that paired brilliantly with the soup. Interestingly, the uni chicken (a yuringi-style fried chicken with onion sauce) draws just as many fans as the gukbap itself, and it makes an excellent drinking companion with beer. Prices are low, the space is well-maintained, and its location near the coastal walking path makes for an easy pre- or post-meal stroll.
