Sokcho Sintoburi Gamja Ongsimi 속초신토불이감자옹심이

The ongsimi, potato dumplings, are made only from Gangwon potatoes ground in-house, which gives them a finer grain and a chewier bite than most. Traditional gamja ongsimi comes in a clear, cool-tasting broth with thin zucchini strips and enoki, while the perilla-seed version is nutty and thick, different enough to feel like two separate dishes. The shop sits on the ground floor inside Sokcho Jungang Market's main arcade; a queue forms before opening, though the stretch before closing is usually calm.
