Osulloc Tea House Bukchon occupies a three-story hanok renovated with contemporary interiors at 45 Bukchon-ro in Jongno-gu. The ground floor displays and sells tea, gift products, and brewing tools. The second floor provides cafe seating for tea and dessert. From late afternoon, the third floor functions as a bar for tea-based cocktails and nonalcoholic mocktails. Buying packaged tea, sitting for brewed tea, and using the evening bar therefore follow separate routes within one building. Bukchon's Saekdong, a dessert limited to this branch, combines warm grilled pieces of cheese, millet, sliced rice cake, and gamtae-wrapped rice cake with several sauces. Gamtae adds a marine aroma around sticky rice, while cheese and millet change salinity and grain texture. Leaf teas such as Gotjawal and Cheon Ulong come with a small sand timer for measuring the steep. The matcha sampler costs 20,000 won and places three different matcha drinks in small cups beside dessert. It suits comparison rather than the volume of one full drink. Matcha soft serve combines milk sweetness with matcha bitterness at a cold temperature. Matcha strawberry cake adds fruit acidity and cream. Although the exterior retains a hanok form, the interior is organized like a restrained gallery around tea products. The order may center on comparing matcha, pairing leaf tea with the branch-only rice cakes, or choosing ice cream and cake.
