Omura-an 오무라안

Shrimp, sweet potato and kabocha squash in a thin, crisp batter crown the modeum tendon (mixed tempura rice bowl), with a house sauce soaking down into the rice. The restaurant has held its spot for more than 30 years on the way from Gangnam Station toward the Yeoksam community center, and its room recalls a small countryside eatery in Japan. Dishes take a while to come out, and tables fill before noon.
