Jeonju Jangjakbul Gomtang 전주장작불곰탕

Outside the restaurant, wood fires burn under huge cauldrons where the broth simmers for hours, and the gomtang comes with plenty of thinly sliced beef. The broth is rich but finishes clean. The smell typical of beef-bone soup houses hangs in the dining room, which squeamish diners may notice the moment they walk in. Solo diners are sometimes seated at a shared table with strangers.
