Jeju Sikdang 제주식당

Despite the name, nothing on the grill is from Jeju: it is thick, aged pork belly, either samgyeopsal or skin-on ogyeopsal. The restaurant sits on Daesagwan-ro, close to Itaewon and Hannam-dong. Tables are spaced widely enough for work dinners and families with children. The meat arrives pre-seared and cut, and staff return to the table to grill it. Wrap it with myeongi-namul, pickled wild garlic leaves, and grilled kimchi, while a large pot of sundubu-jjigae, soft tofu stew, comes with the meal. The side dishes are mildly seasoned, easy for children and older diners. Gabri-sal, another pork cut, fried rice and fruit ades are separate orders.
