Jeju Sanghoe is a Jeju-style pork noodle soup specialist on Sharosu-gil in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, that has been in operation for over a decade. The signature gogi-guksu features a clean, mild pork-bone broth topped with generous chunks of tender, slow-cooked pork. Many diners rate it above what they have eaten on Jeju Island itself. While the noodle portion is moderate, the sheer volume of meat ensures a satisfying meal in a single bowl. The bibim-guksu offers a tangy, appetite-stimulating dressing, and the dombe-gogi (Jeju-style boiled pork slices) is soft enough to double as a drinking snack. Dwaeji-gukbap (pork rice soup) is also available, making the restaurant a reliable option for a restorative morning-after meal. The seasonal mom-guk (seaweed soup) is served only from September onward, as the broth spoils easily in summer heat. Side dishes are minimal but well chosen: the chive salad (jeonguji) carries a light touch of fish sauce for umami, paired with pickled onion. A standard gogi-guksu runs 8,000 won, with the special at 14,000 won, pricing that most diners find exceptional for the portion and quality delivered. The restaurant sits below ground level, so ventilation struggles during summer months and the space can feel warm. Seats fill rapidly during weekday lunch, and the narrow, steep entrance stairway makes queuing somewhat uncomfortable. During the lunch rush, food may take close to 30 minutes after ordering.
