옷살(OTSAL)

OTSAL is an authentic Indian restaurant located in the basement level of a building on Gwanak-ro, near Seoul National University Station in Gwanak-gu. Operating since the early 2010s, it has built a loyal following over more than a decade. The kitchen is helmed by Indian chefs, and diners who have experienced Indian cuisine in countries such as the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and India consistently attest to its authenticity. The tandoori chicken is a standout dish, prepared and presented tableside by the chef on a skewer, with a crisp exterior giving way to juicy, well-seasoned meat. The curries are thick and richly spiced with an addictive warmth, and the heat level is adjustable to individual preference. Naan portions are generous enough that one per person suffices, and rice is served complimentary with curry orders. The chicken tikka paired with biryani is another popular combination, and the vegetarian selection is comprehensive enough to satisfy diners familiar with Indian vegetarian traditions. Set menus for two or three guests progress through a welcome yogurt drink, a main course of curry, chicken, naan, and salad, and a dessert of tea and ice cream, all at a reasonable price point. Note that dessert must be requested separately. Underground parking is available within the building, and the staff maintains a consistently warm and attentive service standard throughout the meal.
