Four abandoned hanok (traditional Korean houses) were joined together in 2014 by photographer Louis Park to make this space, with the weathered walls and rafters left exposed. Tile-stacked outer walls, tables built from mother-of-pearl cabinet panels and vintage sofas fill the rooms. By day the sunlit courtyard works as a cafe. After dark the lights drop and it turns into a cocktail bar. The house Sikmul Coffee comes topped with sweet cream, and the Jeong Se-gwon Cocktail is named for the man who preserved Ikseon-dong's hanok streets. Weekends are crowded and loud, and the vintage chairs are not built for long stays.
