하숙영 가마솥비빔밥 (구 중앙회관)

Hasukyeong Gamasot Bibimbap, also known by its former name Jungang Hoegwan, is a Jeonju bibimbap institution near Jeonju Hanok Village in Wansan-gu. Rice is cooked in a traditional iron gamasot pot and served piping hot, topped with fresh namul, zucchini, and raw beef yukhoe, then mixed tableside by a staff member who adds a touch of cheongyang chili seasoning for a refreshing, umami-rich kick. The house-made jang (fermented soybean paste) adds a depth of flavor that distinguishes this place from competitors, and the yukhoe is high enough in quality to be ordered as a standalone dish. Over ten different banchan accompany the meal, including crispy fried items and slightly spicy japchae, and finishing with nurungji-sungnyung (scorched rice tea) and house doenjang is considered the essential way to close the experience. The gamasot yukhoe bibimbap is priced around 17,000 won, and the haemul-pajeon (seafood scallion pancake) is a popular add-on. Weekend waits can stretch to one or two hours, but arriving before 11 a.m. on weekdays typically avoids a queue. Parking is available at a nearby bank lot with the first hour free when presenting a parking ticket, though walking from Hanok Village is the most convenient approach. The restaurant also draws a notable number of international visitors, reflecting its well-established standing in the Jeonju dining scene.
