Gayang Kalguksu & Mushroom Maeuntang 가양칼국수버섯매운탕

Mushrooms, minari (water parsley), broth and kimchi have been self-serve and unlimited at this Yeouido old-timer for more than 20 years. The spicy broth leans hard on minced garlic, in the Deungchon style of mushroom shabu kalguksu. Beef comes only in the amount ordered. The vegetables go in first, followed by thick, uneven kalguksu noodles, and the last of the pot becomes fried rice or a porridge of mashed potato. There is no break time, soju is cheap, and the lunch queue can be joined through CatchTable. Expect the garlic to stay on your clothes.
