Seoul Seongbuk-gu Bomun-ro 182

Three generations of an ethnic Chinese family in Korea run this place, and the dining room is more modern and tidy than the typical neighborhood Chinese-Korean restaurant. The beef brisket jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) is loaded with thin brisket yet stays clean rather than greasy, with a clear smoky wok note. Yuringi, crisp fried chicken dressed in a soy-based sauce, is the usual partner for it, and the rest of the menu runs from jajangmyeon, seafood jjamppong and shrimp fried rice to sweet and sour pork and yangjangpi (a cold platter salad). Food comes out quickly, so even a queue moves fast. It sits on Bomun-ro near Seongbuk-gu Office and Sungshin Women's University and closes on Mondays.
