On the second floor of the Metro Building off Gangnam-daero, a large hall runs an all-you-can-grill pork setup: samgyeopsal, neck, thin-shaved belly and honeycomb-scored pork skin. Depending on the set, thin beef brisket and beef large intestine join the platter, and fuller sets add soy-glazed boneless fried chicken (ganjang chicken), Hamhung-style cold noodles, rice and drinks. A self-serve bar holds lettuce, perilla leaves, spicy scallion salad and kimchi alongside sesame oil, salt and even curry powder for building wraps. Window tables look out over Gangnam-daero. When the room is full, smoke hangs in the air and meat cooks slowly over burners that run low.
