Hambak steak, a thick pork patty under sweet-tangy brown sauce and a fried egg, comes to the table on a stone plate so hot that the sauce keeps bubbling at the edges. This old-style Western diner has cooked in Suyu-dong's taxi-driver restaurant strip since 2008, with donkatsu and fish cutlet as the other mains. Cream soup and finely diced radish kimchi arrive first, and the cold, slightly sweet kimchi cuts through the fried richness. Come early for the fish cutlet, which often sells out before noon. Weekend queues form but turn over quickly, and about four cars fit in front of the shop.
