Darae Hambak Steak is a budget-friendly Western-style diner in Gangbuk-gu that serves a hambak steak set for just 6,500 won as of December 2025. The signature dish arrives sizzling on a hot stone plate with a fried egg on top, creating an impressive visual and keeping the food hot throughout the meal. The pork-based patty retains good juiciness, and the house-made tangy sauce elevates the pairing of meat and rice with an addictive quality. Note that the sauce comes extremely hot, so caution when eating is advised. Freshly pickled kkakdugi, slightly sweet and refreshingly cool, cuts through any richness cleanly. The set includes soup and bean sprout broth. The menu is limited to three main items — hambak steak, spicy pork cutlet, and fish cutlet — though the fish cutlet sells out early every morning and requires an opening-time visit. An extra 1,500 won upgrades to a large portion, and takeout packaging is available. Weekends bring a line, but fast turnover keeps waits manageable. The lunch cutoff is 2:40 PM, so timing is essential. About four to five parking spots are available in front. The exterior resembles an old-fashioned Korean snack shop, but in terms of value, few places in Seoul compete.
