Bugakjeong 북악정

Since the 1980s the kitchen in Pyeongchang-dong has centered on beef ribs, and private rooms look out toward Bukhansan. The large car park makes family gatherings and business meals easy to reach by car. Diners never handle the tongs: staff grill the saengalbi, unmarinated short ribs, and the marinated yangnyeom so-galbi at every table. Chilled pumpkin-and-corn porridge opens the meal, and soy-marinated raw shrimp appears among the side dishes, unusual for a barbecue house. To finish, there are Pyongyang naengmyeon with mild broth and easily broken noodles, or yukhoe bibimbap served with clam soybean-paste stew.
