Villa Guerrero is an authentic Mexican taco specialist near Samseong Station in Gangnam, built on recipes the owner personally learned in Mexico's Guerrero region. The name translates from Spanish as Villa of Guerrero, reflecting the direct lineage of its culinary traditions. Carnitas tacos feature pork offal parts including lean meat, skin, tripe, and tongue, slow-cooked in their own fat, creating a flavor profile often compared to Korean sundaegukbap's organ meats reimagined in taco form. The tongue is exceptionally tender with deep, rich flavor reminiscent of chashu or suyuk, and in Mexican taco culture, a taqueria without tongue is not considered a real taqueria, making it an essential order. Chorizo tacos contain the filling of traditional Mexican sausage without the casing, delivering a spicy yet clean taste that tends to be less divisive among newcomers. A self-service bar provides lime and salsa for customization, and generous lime application is recommended to complement the pork's distinctive aroma. Three varieties of Mexican beer are available on the menu, pairing naturally with the tacos. Saturday-only special menus expand the selection, so weekend visits offer a broader tasting experience. The compact space seats only five to six groups at a time, but the single-menu format ensures fast turnover. Peak meal hours can bring waits despite the efficient service.
