Squid and octopus have been stir-fried under the same old-money decor and distinctive hand-lettered sign in Apgujeong since the 1990s. It is 200m from Apgujeong Rodeo Station, and lunch brings long lines. Ojingeo-bokkeum, the house squid stir-fry, combines thick pieces of fresh squid and crisp vegetables in a sauce that starts sweet and finishes hot. Add ssang-sari, a mix of thin wheat noodles and glass noodles, to the octopus stir-fry, and order crisp fried squid on the side. The meal ends with leftover sauce turned into fried rice with seaweed flakes and chopped kimchi.
