3il Hanwoo Gukbap 3일한우국밥

Thumb-sized chunks of Korean beef, around ten pieces per bowl, fill the hanwoo gukbap (beef soup with rice), which arrives still boiling in an earthenware pot. Its broth, simmered for three days from hanwoo cows, floats chili oil over radish and napa cabbage and ends with a slight sweetness, in the spicy market style rather than a clear seolleongtang. Open 24 hours at the Yeongdeungpo rotary corner, a six-minute walk from Exit 4 of Yeongdeungpo Market Station, the shop takes orders by kiosk. Solo counter seats line the first-floor window, and late at night only the second floor runs, loud with drinkers. The cubed radish kimchi on the side is sweet and savory, a good match for the broth.
