205 Daege Jikpanjang is a snow crab restaurant at 205 Yeongdeok Daege-ro in Ganggu-myeon, Yeongdeok County. The building stands along the coast, slightly apart from the busiest stretch of crab shops, and the second-floor dining room looks toward the East Sea and the shoreline. The first floor is used to display and select crab. Each chosen crab is weighed there before it is sent for steaming, while the meal continues upstairs. Domestic snow crab is handled during its season, and Russian bakdal crab is another species sold when domestic crab is not in circulation. Set meals can include an assorted sashimi plate, mushroom jeon, fried shrimp, and mulhoe seasoned with gochujang. The mushroom pancake and shrimp are cooked and brought out warm rather than taken from a cold buffet. While these dishes are served, the selected crab remains in the steamer. Once cooked, the crab is separated into legs and body sections, and cuts are made in the shell so the meat can be removed without breaking every segment by hand. Crab-shell bibimbap mixes rice with crab meat left in the shell and flying fish roe. The roe remains visible throughout the rice rather than appearing only as a garnish. Crab ramyeon uses crab in a spicy soup with noodles and is served as a separate hot dish after the steamed crab and rice. The newer building separates the seafood-handling floor from the tables above, so the process of selecting and weighing crab takes place away from the dining seats. A black coffee machine is also placed in the dining area for use after the food.
