A Japanese-style tonkatsu restaurant in Heunghae, Pohang, Gyeongbuk, with a strong local following. The hire-katsu (tenderloin) is remarkably tender and juicy with a delicate flavor, while the rosu-katsu (loin) offers richer taste from its marbled fat layer. A recently added chicken tenderloin katsu (sasami) has also earned praise. Mixing wasabi into the dipping sauce enhances the pairing, and piling on cabbage salad balances any richness. Rice, miso soup, and salad are all refillable, and vitamins are offered as a thoughtful touch. The restaurant may close early when ingredients sell out, so late visits are risky. Peak lunch hours can see waits of about an hour, making an early arrival advisable.
