Yeondon 연돈

Yeondon is a famous tonkatsu shop in Seogwipo, Jeju, known for loin katsu and cheese ball katsu. The loin has no pork odor and is tender enough to feel almost melting, while the crust delivers an intensely crispy bite reminiscent of fried chicken. Tenderloin requires very little chewing, and the cheese ball katsu combines crunch, nuttiness, and salty melted cheese in a single mouthful. Dipping in the provided Indian sesame adds a toasty depth. The curry has a mild aroma that complements rather than competes with the katsu. However, the restaurant operates on a full self-service model where guests fetch food and return trays, and weekday waits of two hours or more are common. Cheese katsu sells out unless guests arrive early in the morning. Parking is very limited, so roadside parking nearby is often necessary. Table turnover is fast, with three to four tables clearing every five minutes.
