Nothing gets eaten in: this Bukchon bakery by the hanok village entrance has no seats, and bags go straight out onto walks toward Gyeongbokgung or Samcheong-dong. The shop is run by croissant master Kim Ji-ho, and the croissants alone come in about ten kinds. The plain croissant shatters at the edges and stays soft and buttery inside; the shio croissant adds salt and dials down the sweetness. Sogeumppang, Korean salt bread, is denser and chewier, and its butter scent is strongest while still warm. Raspberry cream croissants, egg tarts and seasonal fruit pies rotate through the case, and plain croissants can sell out by afternoon. Anguk Station is about 400m away.
