The menu is just kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and meat dumplings, and ordering kalguksu brings a small bowl of barley rice first. It looks meager, but mixed with the radish salad and gochujang on the table it is the right amount to wake up the appetite. Refills of noodles and barley rice are unlimited only when everyone aged 7 and up orders a bowl of kalguksu, and dumplings are not included. The thick hand-cut noodles in the strong anchovy broth are both why people come and what they complain about, since some strands are thick enough to stay undercooked in the middle. Old-style instant coffee is poured after the meal.
