Nanumi Tteokbokki Seongdae Bonjeom 나누미떡볶이 성대본점

Since 1989 this snack shop across from Sungkyunkwan University has sold ssaltteokbokki, rice cakes in a sweet chili sauce, and the rice cakes themselves are the draw: soft and chewy like fresh garaetteok, with the sauce soaked through to the center. The sauce opens sweet and builds heat toward the end. Gimbap is rolled to order and seasoned lightly so it can be dragged through the sauce, and thick fish cakes come with a sweet soy dip. The shop runs 24 hours, and its narrow room fills at mealtimes. Cup-style takeout lets you eat it on the walk.
